Do you love burger bakar?

Because if you do, I think you miss the whole point of eating a burger. Before I rant about such a trivial matter and probably get bashed later on, do you know that the history of burgers can be traced back to the Mongolian empire era? Yeah it's true, look it up on Wikipedia (duh, where else?).

Burgers are good in my opinion. In Kemahiran Hidup, we call meals as such as 'hidangan sepinggan lengkap' (complete meal?) because they contain all the necessary nutrients. There's the greens for vitamins, the patty for protein and fats, and the breads to provide carbohydrates.

Burgers are also good on the go. That's what the Mongol soldiers figured out. Why not? It contains all the goodness and fits in a palm. A kind of energy pack.

That's why I frown upon burger bakars. I think they obviously defeat the purpose of burgers. Can you eat one while driving or writing or reading? Impossible - you can't use one hand to do a chore and another to hold it because of its size. In fact I think you need another hand to keep the patties and condiments and pickles in a place.

And certainly you can't avoid the mess. Now you have to find some water to clean yourself and a mirror to look for that bit on your face. It's definitely not a mobile bite anymore, it's a full fledged meal that we have to consume in a plate at the dining table with the cutlery and napkin by your side. Maybe that's why they are not cheap too. The cheapest set of burger bakar I've ever bought (on my friends' persuasion) cost me RM8 for a single patty burger, some fries and a bit of black pepper sauce. The meat was so oily and fatty I think a week of jogging wouldn't shed the fats off the system.

Adam may disagree with me.

Darn with RM8 I'd rather have a plate of nasi goreng petai at a warong.

Revamp

I took some time to do some adjustment to the blog. Notice at the right side there are a few new stuff I just added.

Bottom up, first is the feedjit stats gadget. I've had it before but it somehow made the blog looked clumsy so I removed it. Now I'm putting it up again because I just can, maybe I'll take it down back later.

Then the flightdiary banner. Previously I used flightmemory but it was too simple and besides the whole website isn't that good either compared to flightdiary. Flightdiary has a more beautiful and pleasing layout but what attracts me the most is it can obtain the details of a flight simply by entering the flight number.

Next is the 'Setia' logo. It's not called 'Setia' by the way but rather known as 'penyu tranung' and is a symbol for Terengganu. The 'Tranung' folks like to put the turtle sticker on their cars, bikes or even anything. That's like a sign telling others, "Aku anok Tranung". Its history and how it became so famous among Tranung folks are a source if debate but the logo was first used for the Visit Terengganu Year campaign if I'm not mistaken.

Last is the Blogger logo. I used to use the 'Powered by Blogger' one but I think 'I Power Blogger' suits me better in the sense that it kind of implies my superiority and independence.

ASiS and SPM 2012

The SPM results are out and ASiS is the best performing school in the Federal Territory, again. The news doesn't mention the best in FT Kuala Lumpur only or the best in the whole Malaysian Federal Territory that includes Putrajaya and Labuan as well. I think the latter's more accurate.

ntv7 News went to Jalan Yaacob Latif yesterday to do a bite about ASiS and how it carries itself as a High Performance School. Read and watch here.

Ad Astra per alas porci

It's been a long week. The subject I've been learning for 9 months has finally come to an end with an examination, the longest since school. Nine months is a long period. If I learnt something in June, I may most likely not remember it anymore in the February.

The exam took place yesterday, at 0830 hours. Yes people, an exam on a bloody Saturday. FYI, the place where I studied is used to doing activities every alternate Saturday. Before 2011, they even did it every week! The activities? Aircraft washing, technical practices, board games (yes I know right?), and many other boring things they can think of. Sometimes it might get better with football or jungle trekking but the usual mode is lame.

Out of 140 MCQ questions, only 3/10 I could claim knowledge of, and I can't claim the whole number as correctly answered.

Honestly my chance of scoring the passing mark (75%) is so slim Man City might have a better chance at overtaking their red neighbours in this season's title race.

By the way what the fart were Liverpool doing last night? Just when I thought I could use the game to get over the exam frustation, Liverpool were sunk at St Mary's. A few weeks of splendid performance, even beating the Spurs last week and suddenly a 1-3 loss? There goes our top 4 finish, gentlemen, at the hands (or feet?) of Southampton. Never mind I'll still be cheering at the TV when we meet Aston Villa next week.

That pretty much summed up my weekend since I used today (Sunday) to doze off and redeem the sleepless nights.

KPI for 2013

This should be posted earlier. Forgive me for forgetting this. I'm a Malay, you see, and we 'mudah lupa'.

I know I have done almost nothing to cheer up the local blogosphere (note to self : quit the exaggerating). Last year it tallied 35 number of posts, a decrease from the previous year's 36. That's not good in the future when I'm old and wants to revisit my younger mind and see how it used to work. So in line with the Prime Minister Najib Razak's transformation programme, I'm introducing MORPH1M.

What is MORPH1M?

It's "More Posts in the blog Please Hello are you listening? 1Malaysian me".

Who is behind the programme?

Mr. Junid, the author of iowc.blospot.com.

What is the purpose?

To increase the rate of posts per month in this blog and in the same time reduce the useless tweets.

What is the objective?

To make sure I can reach 36 posts all combined at the end of the year. It's also an answer to the decrease of 1 post in 2012 compared to 2011 although 36 posts in 2011 were written in only 6 months.

How to achieve?

Jump to first chance of writing without having to lie on the bed or checking on Twitter first. 36 posts in a year means 3 posts per month on average and to bet on the safe side, one post per week. Sh*t.

Who's going to benefit?

The Malaysian blogosphere with the existence of yet another shitty blog whose existence can't be justified even by its author.

What can I do to contribute?

Nothing. But if you feel like wanting to bash me for my stupidity in the posts please do so in the comments section. Any inquiries or suggestions can be e-mailed to mindmaster.24@gmail.com or left in the comments section below but be reminded that only the ones pertinent to the programme and the non-partisan will be entertained.

Ignorance isn't always bliss

Malays are so ignorant. How to look smart in front of a bunch of them? Quote or read something from the news. Believe me, they don't read or watch news much and when they actually do, it's Buletin Utama, Harian Metro, Malaysiakini, blogs, and Facebook. Yes, Fb.

We all know that media in Malaysia are full of cowdung and usually are the battlefield for the politicians to spread every dung that comes out of their pie holes. Blogs, FB? Both aren't credible sources of info, because both are actually personal exploits of the writer and he/she can write or post anything that tickles their fancy. Of course, if they go overboard, they can still be subjected to legal action etc.

Seriously it always bothers me that some of the Malays I know are so lacking in knowledge with exception to politics. They can talk about politics all day regardless of how fairytale-ish the things they say.

In many occasions, I just say the stuff I know from reading the newstream at Google News and I quickly get branded with 'Wiki' and such. I'm not surprised of their ignorance. My advice is if you want to get a better view of the world we're living in, don't limit your reading to novels and Malaysian sheety media. Go to Google News, get ahold with the global news agencies but don't stop there. Compare their news with each other to get the best perspective.

Plus, we can actually improve English from reading the news. No need to buy and read the thick books (tho I implore to do so).
