But my hope was crushed as Airasia delayed my flight by an hour. Supposedly I would arrive at Langkawi by 1530 hrs and spend the noon at the Lima 2011 finale. At last, the closest I got to Lima was watching the long line of planes on the tarmac at Mahsuri Exhibition Centre adjacent to the airport I landed on.
So the weekend got a little less awesome but my disappointment was absorbed by the mesmerising beauty of Langkawi.
The best part? Motor riding to Kuah Town for the night shopping. It is common knowledge that chocolates are abundant in cheap in Langkawi so it's not inappropriate to say we spent all our allowance on tons of choc packs.
And because it has been long since I last rode a bike I let some steam off that night riding around some parts of the island.
Still I felt jealous to my pals who managed to catch the Lima airshow.
